Across borders and industries, DAO Ops turns the Web3 era around: a preview of the 7th Taiwan Blockchain Summit

Since 2016 the Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association has invited leading figures to share industry trends and the newest blockchain applications each year. The 7th Taiwan Blockchain Summit takes place on Saturday 19 November, under the guidance of the Taiwan Blockchain Alliance and co-hosted with Business Next's Meet Taipei, in partnership with Kronos Research, da0, Binance, and KryptoGO, and with support from Taipei Entrepreneurs Week and TechNews. It will be held on the Super Stage at the Taipei Expo Park Expo Dome. This year's theme, "DAO Ops", asks how decentralised autonomous organisations can become the operating model for community governance in the Web3 ecosystem, and how the next-generation MarTech wave can carry a "One World, One Community" experiment in social finance now that Web3 has become a shared basis for the new economy. Built around the DAO as an operating form, the programme runs through five panels and two keynotes with more than thirty well-known blockchain experts from Taiwan and abroad, weaving the Web3 network across disciplines and connecting Taiwan's blockchain development to the wider world. ▲ Agenda of the 7th Taiwan Blockchain Summit – DAO Ops (Source: Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association) Public goods have lately become one of the areas large companies plan around. da0 is a project group under g0v, and its purpose is to combine Web3 with the commons and public goods: to take the decentralised idea at its core and fold blockchain solutions such as quadratic funding and quadratic voting into public-goods settings, creating a sustainable funding model. This panel is chaired by da0 founder Noah Yeh, joined by the head of Protocol Labs' research team and its CTO, together with the rotating chair of the g0v Summit team, to work through where Web3 and public goods can be built together. In the Web3 world everyone is a contributor and everyone can act. Decentralised thinking and alliance-based collaboration build a new operating model for society. Chan Ting-yi, former chair of the NCC and honorary chair of the Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, hosts this panel, drawing on her wide experience and her connections across sectors. She is joined by the head of the blockchain team at Cathay Financial Holdings' Data and Digital Development Center, the secretary-general of the Taiwan Climate Partnership, and a director at Nasdaq, to describe how a decentralised alliance is built in practice. What is Web3, and how should today's internet be told apart from what came before? From the one-way publishing and reading of Web1, through the shared community knowledge of Web2 under the rule of big data, to Web3 where each person governs their own data — decentralised network architecture has been working its way into commercial practice, and how companies and institutions should meet and embrace the Web3 era has become an urgent strategic question. In this keynote, Damien Ho of Binance's global partnerships team shares the latest Web3 trends and how to apply them. As blockchain technology flourishes and the governance frameworks of community organisations change, new ways of handling data, new forms of capital formation, and new economic interactions are iterating quickly. How companies, civic institutions, and Web3 startups can mix across boundaries, talk to one another, and build a new kind of society that is both decentralised and sustainable is the subject of this panel, led by Kao Chi-chun, chair of the Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, with the founding partner of Mafia Capital and managing partner of New Economy Ventures, a director at Chainlink, and the co-founder of SolMeet and initiator of Dappio. Keynote two: Co-creation of the KOL economy in Web3.0. In an age of 5G and information overload where everyone carries a phone, social media, dating apps, and the creator industry all rely on strong marketing to hold users' attention, drive behaviour, and convert — the "fan economy". Now that Twitter and Instagram have both added digital collectibles (NFTs) and links to personal crypto wallets, the community, trends, and ecosystem of Web3 are not to be underestimated. C-Cubed founder William Pacaz shares community marketing strategy in the Web3 wave and the outlook for the fan economy. From fundraising to listing on an exchange, the path takes anywhere from six months to several years — zero to one, to ten, to a hundred. This panel looks at the process from an incubator's point of view: how to help a company scale and list, and take it from local to global. Chaired by Charlotte Jao, public relations director of the Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, with the CTO of Kronos Research, an investment analyst at Kronos Ventures, and a member of Binance's global partnerships team. "Sixty-five per cent of the jobs of the next decade do not exist yet." As Web3 develops, the global village flattens further, companies take on entirely new shapes, and new occupations appear. The rise of the DAO combines the strengths of a community and a company, and calls for a new operating model. Chaired by Jeff, editor-in-chief of Zombit, with the founder of FAB DAO, a founding member of Bu Zhi DAO, and an adviser to DNA Club, discussing how a DAO actually runs. After years of steady work, the Taiwan Blockchain Summit has become an indispensable annual event for Taiwan's blockchain industry.
